I am an attorney practicing sports & entertainment law, business law, intellectual property and nonprofits. My knowledge in these areas of law is not just a product of what I learned in law school but an outgrowth of my experiences as a filmmaker, teaching artist, trainer, writer and entrepreneur.   Even before going to law school, I was already working with and for artists, writers, entrepreneurs, business owners, athletes, community organizers and nonprofits.  I understand the moxy, vision and cojones it takes to get your business, nonprofit or creative project started AND finished.  I also learned the hard way that there are unscrupulous people out there ready to take advantage of those who dream big.   That's why having a dream is not enough -- you need a visionary strategy, a flexible plan, an exhaustive network and the practical know-how to navigate the business and legal minefields that can trip up even the sharpest veteran.

By the time I went to New York Law School, I was driven with a mission: To work with visionaries, risk-takers, creatives and entrepreneurs, like yourself, and help you nurture and grow your talents and dreams.  I understand that 'your main preoccupation is your business or your project' so my clients see me as an ally and advocate who supports and advises them with efficiency, responsiveness and excellence.  During law school I immersed myself in different areas of the entertainment industry working with the MPAA's Northeast Piracy division and MTV's Business and Legal Affairs Department. Upon graduation, I produced short-form media content for nonprofits like Grand Street Settlement and The Latino Commission on AIDS, helped filmmakers and music producers form their businesses and protect their IP assets and served as a NY-chapter board member of NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers). Whether it's negotiating and drafting agreements, letters and court documents, forming business entities, registering IP, pursuing chains-of-title, developing strategies and plans and any of the other myriad needs that come up, I am dedicated to the success of your projects.

I am fluent in Spanish and have experience representing overseas clients who require Spanish-speaking counsel.  In addition to my law practice, I write storiesproduce videos and enjoy a good workout.  After my honorable discharge from the USMC, I wrote a martial arts/MMA training and self-defense book, Mixed Martial Arts Fighting Techniques, based on my training within and outside of the military.
